The market in 60 seconds
Across Central Seattle ZIPs 98102, 98112 and 98122, the median home sold for $1.10M over the last 30 days (66 closings; single-family alone $1.35M). The median home took 43 days from listing to closing, and there are 5.5 months of inventory on the market, down from 6.1 a week ago.
Under three months favors sellers and above six favors buyers, so this sits in the middle. Single-family homes are tighter, at 3.7 months, and 12% of homes closed above asking.
One useful thing: check Seattle's tree rules before you prune
Before you prune or remove a tree on your own property, check Seattle's rules. The tree protection code limits the number, size and type of trees you may remove, and some trees are protected. Unlawful removal can carry expensive penalties. SDCI tries to finish its first review of a tree removal request within two weeks. SDCI/tree-removal)
Reader asked
A reader in Central Seattle asked how to get speed bumps installed on a residential street in Seattle. SDOT typically installs speed humps on residential streets, through its Neighborhood Traffic Calming Program, which picks locations each year. The program ranks streets by recorded speeds and traffic volumes, reported crash history, nearby destinations such as schools, parks and transit stops, and street design. To ask SDOT to look at a street, call (206) 684-ROAD (7623) or email [email protected]. SDOT speed humps SDOT traffic calming
